Hancock Sweeps Third Consecutive Gold Medal in ISSF World Cup

(Accokeek, MD)   Vincent Hancock, Olympic champion and Team Beretta shooter, recently won his third consecutive gold medal at the 2018 ISSF World Cup Series in Siggiewi, Malta.

With gold medals in the previous 2 stages of this year’s competition, Hancock has now won ten World Cup gold medals during his stellar career.

Hancock started the competition with an excellent qualification round as he missed only 2 targets out of 125 to advance into the final round in second place.

“This was definitely one of the hardest competitions to shoot in,” Hancock said, in an interview with ISSF after the medal ceremony. “We had a lot of weather changes. [The] sunlight was perfect. Malta is a beautiful country, but the wind was definitely a factor in the last few days.”

With an exceptional final performance, Hancock topped the podium after hitting 56 out of 60 clays, besting his closest competitor by 2 targets.

Hancock recently switched from a standard DT11 Skeet shotgun to the new DT11 Black Skeet, and his recent competition wins prove that he has once again found his champion grove.

Kim Rhode, six-time Olympic gold medalist and Team Beretta member, was also in attendance at last weekend’s Stage 3 of the ISSF World Cup. With gold medals in the last two stages of this series, Rhode battled against some tough competition and changing weather patterns and she finished this stage in the top ten.

Our international team shooters, Amber Hill and Donglian Zhang, achieved gold and bronze medal finishes in the Women’s Skeet competition, respectively.

Both Hancock and Rhode will be competing as a part of the U.S. Skeet Team at the upcoming 2018 ISSF World Championships from August 31 to September 14, 2018 in Changwon, Korea.
