Precision Hunter Named Ammo of the Year

(Grand Island, Nebr.) — Hornady® Precision Hunter™ factory-loaded ammunition with the ELD-X® all-range bullet has been voted Best Ammunition of the Year by readers of France's largest hunting magazine, Connaissance de la Chasse (Knowledge of Hunting).

Precision Hunter™ has become the ammunition of choice for French outdoorsmen and women in applications ranging from mountain hunting, with its long shots in harsh conditions, to driven hunts for wild boar. French hunters prefer the heavy-for- caliber ELD-X® bullet because of its quick and reliable effect on game from all practical hunting distances.

Hornady® developed the ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag-Expanding) bullet to expand at low-velocity extended ranges (beyond 400 yards) and not over-expand at high-velocity conventional ranges (up to 400 yards) — making it effectively an all-range bullet.

Its Heat Shield® tip allows consistent expansion while defying aerodynamic heating. The bullet continually expands throughout its penetration path while retaining much of its weight, causing deep penetration and large cavities.

Propellants used in Precision Hunter™ ammunition are clean-burning and loaded to uniform capacity for consistent shot-to-shot results regardless of temperature. The high level of accuracy and performance uniformity provided by Precision Hunter™ make it popular for diverse hunting situations, such as those encountered by French hunters.
