Sedalia, MO - Team Vihtavuori delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Southwest Nationals, securing a 2nd place finish in the F-Open Grand Aggregate Team Award with a score of 2579-153X out of a possible 2600.
The prestigious competition, held from February 12-16 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, AZ, was hosted by the Desert Sharpshooters Rifle Club. As one of the premier long-range shooting events in the world, the Southwest Nationals features F-Open, F-TR, and Sling disciplines, attracting top-tier competitors.
Team Vihtavuori competed in both the Palma and 1,000-Yard Team matches, finishing 4th in the Palma match with a score of 1785-110X (out of 1800) and claiming victory in the 1,000-Yard match with a score of 794-43X.
In addition to the team’s success, several members earned individual accolades. Tim Vaught captured the F-Open Championship, Doug Skogman secured 3rd place, and Tracy Harrold was recognized as High Woman.
