Week 7 Results of Scopos’ 2025 National Air Rifle New Shooter and Air Pistol Leagues

In the Air Pistol League, first place NoVA Sharpshooters had a bye week but kept their top spot. Cos Cob Revolver And Rifle Club earned their fourth win of the season and remains solidly in second place.

In the New Shooter League, Fontana MCJROTC kept their lead for the seventh week in a row, defeating previously undefeated Norview NJROTC by almost 95 points. Now just five undefeated teams remain, they are Fontana MCJROTC, Martin Luther King NJROTC, John F. Kennedy AJROTC, MSYESS, and Round Rock MCJROTC.

American Legion Post 290 Defeats Post 195

In a battle of American Legion Posts, Post 290 from Stafford, VA defeated Post 195 from Slugoff, SC by just 1.0 points. Aidyn Tiller led Post 290 with a score of 269.2, increasing their record to 2 - 4. Whereas Madison Keels led Post 195 with a 258.3, whose record dropped to 4 - 2.

The “A”s Have It

The top four athletes in the individual standings of the New Shooter League, all have names beginning with “A.” Austin Murphy from MSYESS leads the individual standings, followed by Aaron Hale from Mountain Home NJROTC, Austin Himsey from American Legion Post 290, and Andrew Cheng from Hendrickson MCJROTC.

Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club Out Performs Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association

Advancing to a 4 - 1 record, Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club, from Greenwich, CT out shot Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association, 2136 to 2074, keeping them in second place. Sergey Kalinichenko led the Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club with a 562. For the Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association, Sam Shenk led the team with a 538. Palmyra now has a 4 - 2 record and is in fourth place in the league.
