The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) is excited to announce openings for 12 State Game Warden positions across Oklahoma.
No prior law enforcement experience is necessary; however, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 credit hours in a wildlife-related field.
Successful applicants will undergo comprehensive on-the-job training, which includes a 10-week Game Warden Academy at the ODWC office in Oklahoma City, four months of training through the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) for those who are not already CLEET-certified, followed by 12 weeks of field training.
Current openings for Oklahoma State Game Wardens are available in the following counties: Cimarron; Alfalfa; Texas; Washita; Latimer; Adair; Sequoyah; Bryan; Choctaw; Haskell; Garvin and Jackson.
The responsibilities of an Oklahoma State Game Warden include monitoring hunting and fishing activities, investigating reports of law violations, and educating the public about conservation practices, among other vital tasks.
