Job Summary
GForce Arms, Inc., a leading innovator in the firearms industry, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and components essential to the production of firearms. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of firearms, an understanding of supply chain dynamics, and a commitment to compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to cost optimization, supplier reliability, and operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. For the right candidate we will offer a relocation package.
Key Responsibilities
· Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with reliable suppliers of critical components, including barrels, slides, frames, stocks, and accessories, to ensure a consistent supply of materials that meet production needs.
· Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality assurance measures to guarantee that all purchased materials meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company specifications.
· Cost Optimization: Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers to maintain profitability while securing access to high-quality materials and components.
· Inventory Management: Strategically manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts, minimize storage costs, and mitigate risks associated with potential supply chain disruptions.
· Compliance with Regulations: Stay current on federal, state, and local laws governing firearm production and ensure all purchased materials comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
· Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, emerging suppliers, and alternative materials to identify opportunities for improving product quality, reducing costs, or enhancing supply chain resilience.
· Logistics Coordination: Oversee the transportation and timely delivery of purchased materials to the manufacturing facility, collaborating with logistics partners to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or the firearms industry.
· Skills:
· Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost-effective supplier contracts.
· Strong understanding of inventory management and supply chain principles.
· Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
· Knowledge of federal and state firearm regulations (e.g., ATF compliance) is a plus.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience with firearms.
· Experience using ERP Systems.
· Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers.
Working Conditions
· This position may require occasional travel to supplier locations or industry trade shows.
· Must be comfortable working in an environment that adheres to strict safety and compliance protocols.
