Realtree Set to Unveil All-New Legacy Pattern at the 2024 Delta Waterfowl Expo

Realtree is proud to unveil the new Realtree Legacy pattern at the highly anticipated 2024 Delta Waterfowl Expo in Baton Rouge, LA. This event, known for celebrating the best in waterfowl conservation and hunting gear, provides the perfect stage for introducing a pattern that honors a storied past, while embracing innovative advancements. The Realtree Legacy pattern, an evolution of the iconic 1986 Realtree Original, features an assortment of enrichments that will be put on display in front of some of the most avid waterfowl hunters in the country. Moving into the fall of 2024 and beyond, Realtree will be introducing the pattern through licensed partners catering to waterfowl, deer, and turkey hunters.

Company founder and CEO, Bill Jordan commented “What has really made the past several years special is having my son Tyler deeply involved in our day-to-day business.” Jordan continued "In the same way that the Realtree Legacy pattern evolves from the 1986 Original, our father-son bond has grown and deepened through our shared journey in the ever-changing outdoor industry. While the pace at which the world moves today has progressed to warp speed, I’m so lucky that our business can take the time to address the details that we believe are required to bring a best-in-class pattern to market for our licensed partners, retailers, and most importantly, our consumers.”

Realtree’s Vice President Tyler Jordan note "The Realtree Legacy pattern is a tribute to our 1986 Original, bringing back the iconic bark-like treatment that hunters have trusted for decades. We've added drop shadow zones to mimic the varying colorations in trees and break up the vertical nature of a human form, enhancing concealment in the wild. The open zones flow through the pattern with contrasting highlights, creating a natural blend with any timber setting. This new pattern uses the natural colors to ensure unmatched versatility and effectiveness in every hunting environment.” Tyler continued “It’s been fun to work with dad on this project. I’ve found that so many of our customers just love the Original pattern! I know dad is always trying to push for a new and better pattern every time. The Legacy pattern has really created an opportunity for us to acknowledge our history, with an iconic pattern, and innovate with new elements and tones to introduce something incredibly effective."

The Legacy pattern, with its intricate blend of lighter and segmented bark lines is accompanied with added texture, while the warm grays, browns, and neutral tones round out the pattern. Legacy’s cutout and drop-shadow effects adapt to various hunting environments. This pattern is more than just camouflage; it's a testament to Realtree’s enduring effort to deliver the best camo in the business for concealment.

The Realtree Original pattern from 1986 served as the foundational blueprint for the development of the Realtree Legacy pattern, quite literally forming the product development infrastructure upon which the new design was built. The iconic “figure 8’s” and dark bark lines of the Original pattern provide the essential structure for the Legacy pattern.

By introducing lighter and segmented bark lines, the Legacy pattern achieves enhanced depth and a more open feel while maintaining the fundamental essence of the Original. The integration of added textures contributes to an organic and natural appearance, and the color palette transitions from the cooler hardwood grays and taupe of the Original to the warmer grays, browns, and neutral tones of the Legacy.

These colors blend seamlessly with natural environments, including ground floors, trees, and muddy water. The Legacy pattern further incorporates naturalistic cutout and drop-shadow effects, enhancing its versatility and effectiveness across various hunting environments. This evolution from Original to Legacy illustrates a seamless enhancement of contrast, color, and design, rooted in the time-honored elements of the 1986 pattern.
