The National Office of the Boy Scouts of America has selected MidwayUSA’s Brenda Potterfield as the recipient of its Distinguished Conservationist Award. The award recognizes individuals who contribute a lifetime of service and make a lasting impact at regional, national, and international conservation levels. It acknowledges the influence the individual has on youth and educational programs, and emphasizes the significant efforts made to conserve our nation’s natural resources.

“Scouting America’s foundation is rooted in conservation,” said Greg Baker, Development Director, Great Rivers Scouting. “Outdoor ethics and an appreciation for natural resources are encouraged throughout Scouting programs. It is a thrill for Great Rivers Scouting to announce that longtime board member Brenda Potterfield of MidwayUSA will be honored as a Distinguished Conservationist for her decades of commitment to outdoorswomanship, ethical hunting standards, and generosity toward protecting and enhancing nature.”

Brenda joins an elite class of only 70 Distinguished Conservationists honored with this award and is just the third woman to receive the award since 1915.
