Team Hornady® Champions Koenig and Duff Celebrate

Grand Island, NE - Team Hornady® world pro competitors, Doug Koenig and Jessie Duff scored impressive wins during the 2014 World Action Pistol Championship, May 17, 2014, at Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park City, Ky. Held every two years, the World Match was especially meaningful as it returned to U.S. soil. The traditional course of fire included Practical, Barricades, Moving Target and Falling Plates stage. Each tested the accuracy, speed, and precision of the sport's most elite competitors.

Defending Champion Doug Koenig won his sixth World Action Pistol Championship in the Open Division, setting a new world record on the mover, and an overall score of 1918-184x. Commenting on his choice of Hornady® XTP® 357 caliber 110 grain bullets, Koenig said, "You need the best ammo with the weather conditions experienced on the range. Hornady bullets performed for another championship win."
Jessie Duff won the World Action Pistol Championship Ladies Open Division shooting Hornady® HAP® 9mm 115 grain bullets in her 9mm pistol. With a score of 1907-152x Duff said, "Hornady bullets are without a doubt the most accurate and perfect choice for an action pistol match, especially with titles on the line." Duff also credited years of mental training for helping her to win under pressure.

Next up for Koenig and Duff on the Action Pistol circuit tour was the 35th Anniversary NRA Bianchi Cup, held May 21-24, 2014 in Columbia, Mo.

Duff defended her championship title by winning her fourth NRA Bianchi Cup National Championship Ladies Open Division. Her favorite Hornady® HAP® 115 grain bullets helped her achieve a winning score of 1893-135x. Duff wrapped up the prestigious event with another win in the Ladies Division of the Colt Speed Shootout.

In a dramatic climax to the Men's Division, Koenig won the High Open Division, 2nd overall with a score of 1918-182x. Shooting his go-to Hornady® XTP® 357 caliber 110 grain bullets, he also won the Open Class Division of the Colt Speed Shootout. Koenig, a 15-time Bianchi Cup Champion commented, "Each year the competitive field increases. It's exciting to watch the new shooters experience the excitement and adrenalin that is 'The CUP!'"
