A 16-year-old male from Chadron was injured in a dove hunting incident at about 6:45 p.m. Mountain time Sept. 6 on private property southwest of Chadron in rural Dawes County. The teenager was taken by his hunting party to Chadron Community Hospital with birdshot wounds to his face, torso, arm and hand.

Officials in a third New Jersey municipality have passed a resolution to return their portion of the state’s $200 fee for a carry permit, scoring another victory for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and its partners in an effort to partially refund the exorbitant fees to gun owners.

The group was gathered to celebrate their successes at the Montana state National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) tournament in Helena earlier this spring.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Division of Law Enforcement was awarded the Excelsior Status, the most prestigious achievement in Florida accreditation, by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation at their February 2024 conference. Excelsior Recognition is reserved for criminal justice agencies that have received accreditation five consecutive times over 15 years.
