DNR Echo Point shooting range in Allegan County to close temporarily beginning Wednesday

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Echo Point shooting range in Allegan County, within Allegan State Game Area, will be closed for construction improvements beginning Wednesday.

The shooting range was renovated in 2018 and 2019, but post-construction studies revealed that additional sound abatement measures were warranted.

Contractors will begin the construction of these sound abatement improvements this week. The DNR anticipates the range will remain closed until July 2023.

These improvements are primarily funded through the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act through the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Echo Point shooting range is located at 3682 Monroe Road in Allegan, Michigan.
