Check-Mate Expands Engineering Capabilities and Invites Qualified Candidates to Apply

Check-Mate, a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in high-reliability magazine systems and firearm components, today announced the expansion of its engineering capabilities with a renewed focus on process optimization, ERP system excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives. As part of this growth, the company is actively seeking qualified and motivated candidates to join its expanding team.

At the center of this effort is the Process Engineer role—an integral position designed to strengthen the company's operational backbone by aligning digital systems with real-world production performance. This role underscores Check-Mate's commitment to scalable growth, manufacturing efficiency, and uncompromising quality.

The Process Engineer will lead the configuration and optimization of the PLEX ERP system, ensuring accurate master data, seamless material flow, and real-time alignment between system logic and shop floor execution. From building item masters, bills of materials, and routings to troubleshooting system discrepancies, this role plays a critical part in maintaining operational integrity.

Beyond system management, the position is deeply rooted in hands-on manufacturing improvement. Through time studies, data analysis, and Lean methodologies, the Process Engineer will evaluate assembly processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that enhance throughput, ergonomics, and product quality. The role also includes designing workflow layouts, refining plant configurations, and developing standardized documentation to support consistency and repeatability across operations.

"Growth requires more than capacity—it demands precision in process, discipline in data, and a culture of continuous improvement," said David Blenker, Chief Business Development Officer. "This role reflects our investment in building a smarter, more agile manufacturing environment where engineering and operations work in lockstep."

Collaboration is a cornerstone of the position, with cross-functional engagement spanning Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Tooling teams. The Process Engineer will also support new product launches, ensuring that documentation, routings, and process parameters are established for success from day one.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering disciplines, along with five or more years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering environments. A strong foundation in analytical thinking, attention to detail, and Lean principles is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Operating in both office and high-volume production environments, this role reflects the dynamic nature of modern manufacturing—where digital systems, physical processes, and human performance converge.
