We are seeking an outdoor enthusiast Marketing Manager, Outdoor High Performance Solutions leader to provide both strategic and tactical marketing initiatives that include market and customer segmentation, opportunity identification, addressable market assessment and overall tactical execution for platform/product opportunities for this industry across all PolyOne. The Marketing Manager, Outdoor High Performance Solutions serves as an independent thought leader who can effectively interact and influence peers and the next level up within the organization (both PolyOne and Customers).
RESPONSIBILTIES
Develop and implement the market strategy and targeted segments for the industry, focusing on value creation competitive & differentiation.
Understand key trends and needs by applications within the industry.
Engage internal and external clients leveraging key tools such as opportunity assessment, sales & marketing plans, the innovation development process, Economic Value Estimator (EVE) tools, MARCOMM resources, etc. to drive placement and growth for PolyOne polymer solutions and services in the outdoor industry.
Serve as the industry expert providing the business units continuous support in the form of up-to-date industry and market insight, product application knowledge, competitive intelligence and overall marketing expertise.
Lead the development of a solid communication strategy and positioning and campaigns, including product literature and advertising (digital and print), content marketing for current and new material offerings in collaboration with multi-functional team.
Participate in the innovation pipeline development process leading opportunity assessments for new innovations and providing overall strategic marketing direction for the consumer. Lead overall internal communications to multi-functional teams, ensuring solid execution of plan.
Monitor industry performance against plan, including revenue and gross margin. Assures implementation plans are yielding growth and profitability expectations. Works with product management / sales to understand variances and implement learnings.
Attend and coordinate key trade organization functions and develop industry networks and contacts.
Formulate long-term industry market strategies, and contribute to the incorporation of such into the various business unit's overall strategic plan.
Develop the strategic plan and align with business plans and growth targets.
Ability to travel 50% of the time.

We are seeking an outdoor enthusiast Market Development Specialist, Outdoor High Performance Solutions that will have the primary responsibility of growing and developing an emerging industry and technology platform for the Outdoor High Performance Solutions industry. The Market Development Manager will assess the industry's key unmet needs, customer base, and pinpoint the opportunities where polymer solutions and services may help address those needs in areas where PolyOne solutions can create a sustainable competitive advantage. Having identified and prioritized a portfolio of opportunities, the incumbent will strategically lead the efforts to ensure development, specification, and commercialization of our products and services.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Identify, prioritize, and manage a portfolio of potential market applications for the Outdoor High Performance Solutions industry.
Generate new application targets, uncover undervalued opportunities, establish performance and processing requirements, and determine the strategic fit of the application.
Collaborate high, wide and deep to develop strong customer/partner relationships to help drive commercialization of polymer solutions and services across business units.
Negotiate and execute secrecy agreements, joint development agreements, and commercial agreements as required to drive polymer development and commercialization.
Effectively characterize portfolio opportunities in terms of their potential reward but also risk and cost to pursue.
