Colona, IL – The staff of Rock River Arms mourns the untimely loss of Steve Mayer, a 20-year employee of the company and an integral part of the sales and product development teams. Steve passed away October 12, 2022.
The Rock River Arms family has lost one of its most beloved friends, employees, and managers. Steve joined our team on September 3, 2002. Those who were lucky enough to know Steve know he was one-of-a-kind—brilliant, hard-working, and always ready with a story to tell. We are already feeling the loss of his presence within the walls of our small, family-based manufacturing company.
Steve was an avid shooter, loved our industry, and had a passion for design and custom-built firearms. He was a hard worker, a think tank, and a concept guy. No matter what the task, he was first in line to volunteer to help. Steve was one of our most trusted employees. He will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of getting to know him. Steve is one that cannot ever be replaced. His legacy will live on here at RRA forever, in our minds and in our hearts.
Steve was 54 years old at his passing.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Steve on Tuesday, October 18, from 1pm to 2pm at The Runge Mortuary & Crematory, 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa.
