Effort Comes As Record Number of Americans Embrace Right to Self-Defense

In the wake of last night’s shooting in Fresno and last week’s shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, in which two innocent students lost their lives, the USCCA is continuing to offer free online education and training to help Americans prevent and survive a mass shooter threat. This also comes as FBI figures for firearm purchase background checks – performed via the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) – show that October 2019 was the third consecutive month of record checks, indicating that gun sales continue to rise among law-abiding Americans.

“The recent shootings in Santa Clarita, California, is tragic and heartbreaking. These are our fellow Americans, and we can all agree that something needs to change because this is happening far too often in our communities,” said USCCA President and Founder Tim Schmidt. “But the simple fact is that there is no magic wand, as witnessed by the fact that California already has some of the toughest anti-gun laws in the country. We need to focus on actual solutions and what we know works, which starts with empowering more Americans to be their own responsible protectors.”

Interested Americans can download the USCCA’s “Complete Mass Shooting Survival Guide” which includes extensive training resources to help people become the strongest protectors they can.

The USCCA has also offers free training accounts for anyone who is interested. The accounts include hours of training videos and over a dozen additional guides.

“Education and training can and will save lives by helping law-abiding Americans identify potential threats and respond when seconds matter. The USCCA is committed to helping more Americans be the first line of defense for their families, friends and loved ones. We encourage everyone to download this free education and training material,” Schmidt concluded.

The USCCA provides self-defense education, training and legal protection to responsible American gun owners. The USCCA is the largest and fastest-growing association whose sole focus is the responsibly armed American.
