Team SK Member Mietenkorte Wins NRA High Power Silhouette Championship

Sedalia, MO - Team SK shooter Erich Mietenkorte dominated in extremely difficult conditions to win both the Standard and Hunter Rifle Silhouette Championships in his campaign to capture the 2022 Grand Aggregate National Silhouette High Power Championship.

The 2022 NRA Smallbore National Championships were conducted 11-13 August at Ridgeway Rifle Club, located in Ridgeway, PA. Over 100 shooters competed with both High Power Standard and Hunter rifles at ranges of 200 to 500 meters. The high winds made this already challenging shooting sport a test of the shooter’s ability and perseverance.

High Power Silhouette is shot with centerfire rifles at steel targets from 200 to 500 meters (chickens at 200, pigs at 300, turkeys at 385 and rams at 500). This challenging and exciting discipline is all fired from the standing unsupported firing position. Competitors often use rifles chambered in 6mm BR, 6.5x47 Lapua, and similar cartridges.

Erich said, “Combining my rimfire training using SK with the unbeatable components from Lapua, Berger Bullets and Vihtavuori Powders allowed me to win the Standard Rifle National Championship for the second year in a row, my first Hunter Rifle National Title, and the 2-Gun National Title.”
