http://corps.tamu.edu/>Corps of Cadets annual Athletics Banquet.
The 2,200 member Corps of Cadets annually fields 13 athletic teams with more than 220 cadets participating in virtually every team sport in as many as four states on a given weekend. The CCMU, in only its first full year of competition, competed in five major matches including the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) Nationals at Ft Benning, Ga (2nd place Rimfire Division, 3rd place Centerfire), as host of the SPP Southwest Regional Championship (1st place Rimfire & Centerfire), and for the first time at Smith & Wesson's Joint Service Academy Combat Weapons Championship in Springfield, Mass.
Commandant Brigadier General Ramirez, TAMU Men's Basketball Coach Billy Kennedy, and Cadet Corps Association Executive Director Colonel Don Crawford presented the "Most Outstanding Team" award at the annual banquet that closes out each school year.
The CCMU was officially formed in December of 2011, but today's squad represents the latest in over 100 years of history of marksmanship teams competing for the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. The CCMU fields competitors in the action pistol sports, steel pistol sports, 3-gun, highpower and international trap and skeet. Team members are drawn exclusively from the 2,200 men and women of the Corps of Cadets who are all undergraduates at Texas A&M. Scholarships and in-state tuition are also available for CCMU cadets.
