Mesa, AZ – Congratulations to Rob Nabower, Berger Bullets & Ammunition's Ballistics Manager, for winning the Arizona State Smallbore Prone Championship this past weekend at Ben Avery Shooting Complex in Phoenix, AZ.
The AZ State Smallbore Prone Championship was hosted by Desert Sharpshooters Rifle Club, Saturday, January 10th and featured 160-rounds fired at distances up to 100-yards. Competitors shared that the weather was very uncharacteristic for the Grand Canyon State. Cooler temperatures and winds gusting over 30-mph created very challenging conditions.

"As the Manager of Ballistics for Berger Bullets & Ammunition, I am fortunate to have the Lapua Rimfire Performance Center just outside of my office," stated Nabower. "We were able to find a very consistent lot of Lapua Center-X to feed my Walther KK500 for the 2026 season. Testing at the Lapua Performance Center gave me the confidence and competitive advantage to prevail and win the AZ State Smallbore Prone Championship."
Competitors interested in testing Lapua Rimfire Ammunition, may contact the Lapua Rimfire Performance Center at rimfiretest@capstonepg.com and today and visit either the Ohio or Arizona test facilities.
