SHIELD Sights, pioneer of compact red dot optics, is proud to announce the launch of the OMSx Micro Red Dot Sight, a new optic that blends the competition-driven performance of the RMSx with the innovative translucent roof architecture of the OMSsc, delivering an unrestricted sight picture with almost zero visual obstruction.
The OMSx was developed to give shooters the widest, brightest, and fastest-acquiring sight picture possible in a compact footprint. By combining the translucent roof design of the OMSsc with the wide viewing window of the RMSx, the OMSx creates the visual effect of an even larger window — allowing shooters to pick up the dot faster and track targets more intuitively under speed and stress.

Like the OMSsc, the OMSx features a translucent roof design that allows ambient light to naturally reach the emitter and lens, improving clarity and brightness across changing lighting conditions. This design, combined with SHIELD's automatic brightness adjustment, samples ambient light thousands of times per second to ensure optimal dot intensity without user input.
Drawing from the RMSx, the OMSx incorporates a wide, competition-inspired viewing window that enhances situational awareness and facilitates faster dot acquisition during transitions and movement. The result is an optic that feels larger and brighter than traditional enclosed designs while remaining streamlined and competition ready.
The OMSx is manufactured from aerospace-grade anodized T6 6082 aluminum, offering excellent durability and corrosion resistance. It shares the SHIELD standard footprint, allowing direct mounting on slides cut for SHIELD RMSc/SMSc-pattern optics and enabling co-witness with standard-height iron sights.
