Corson Piper Wins Back-to-Back Regional Matches with Sierra's New 6mm 116 Gr. Tipped MatchKing

Sierra Bullets is proud to announce a dominant weekend performance by competitive shooter Corson Piper, who secured first place in two regional precision rifle matches using Sierra's soon-to-be-released 6mm 116-grain Tipped MatchKing (TMK).

Piper claimed victory at the Farm Out Range Regional Match in Cheney, Washington on March 7, topping a field of 53 shooters. He followed that performance the next day with another first-place finish at Rock Lake Range, also in Cheney, against 41 competitors.

Shooting a 6mm Dasher, Piper relied on the new 6mm 116-grain Tipped MatchKing, a bullet scheduled for public release next week. The matches were marked by challenging conditions and highly variable winds, demanding precise wind calls and consistent ballistic performance throughout the weekend. Despite the difficult conditions, Piper's setup delivered exceptional consistency, allowing him to stay ahead of the field across both events.

"These matches were a great proving ground for the new 116 TMK," said Piper. "The conditions were tough with winds into the low 30's both days which required constant wind adjustments, and the bullet performed exactly how you'd want it to—predictable, stable, and incredibly consistent."

The 6mm 116-grain Tipped MatchKing is engineered to deliver elite long-range performance with the precision and consistency competitive shooters expect from Sierra's Tipped MatchKing line. Piper's back-to-back victories highlight the bullet's potential as a top performer in precision rifle competitions. With high ballistic efficiency and match-grade accuracy, the new 116 TMK is poised to become a standout option for shooters running popular 6mm cartridges such as the 6mm Dasher and other precision rifle platforms.

The 6mm 116-grain Tipped MatchKing will be available to the public next week through Sierra Bullets' distribution network, authorized retailers, and as well as through their website SierraBullets.com.
