2026 SK Lone Star Cup Builds Momentum in Successful Second Year

Sedalia, MO - Held June 6–7 at the Bayou Rifles Club, the 2026 SK Lone Star Cup marked its second year with strong momentum, building on the success of its inaugural debut and further cementing its place as a standout event in the smallbore silhouette calendar.

The competition featured two full days of smallbore standard rifle matches, with shooters completing two 40-shot strings per day for a 160-shot aggregate. In parallel, a smallbore benchrest silhouette match provided competitors with an alternative 160-shot aggregate challenge, broadening the event's competitive appeal. William Harris successfully defended his title as SK Lone Star Cup Champion, delivering an impressive 143 out of 160 to secure the top position in a highly competitive field of 93 standard rifle shooters. On his way to victory, Harris captured both daily aggregate titles, earning the Jim Bowie Trophy and the Davy Crockett Trophy. Elizabeth Steiger claimed second place, followed by Team Berger's Dustin Flint in third. In the Open Rifle Benchrest category, Ronnie Page took top honors.

During the event, Chris Cawthorne, co-founder of North American Silhouette Shooting Association (NASSA) formally introduced the new "Future Champions" Junior Development Program. Designed to strengthen the pipeline of young competitors, the program focuses on three key areas: equipment, training and expanded match opportunities to keep juniors actively engaged in the sport.

As part of the initiative, Team SK's KG Bourgoyne, along with Elisabeth Steiger and Pat Steiger, conducted a junior shooting clinic during the event, providing hands-on instruction and mentorship to the next generation of silhouette shooters.

With growing participation, strong performances, and expanded youth development efforts, the SK Lone Star Cup continues to establish itself as a premier destination for smallbore silhouette competition in the United States.
